The Vagabond King is a romantic operetta set in 15th-century France, telling the story of poet and thief François Villon, who rises from a life of crime to become a folk hero while winning the love of a noblewoman and defying the king. It features music by Rudolf Friml and lyrics by Brian Hooker.
