AUDITIONS & FEES

If you’re reading this page you are probably thinking about applying to join our society and are wondering what is involved.  

Firstly, you don’t need to be a soloist or a trained dancer to join us; our membership includes people of varying levels of experience, expertise and age.  However, you do need to be able to sing in tune and learn simple movements to be part of our chorus ensemble.

For that reason, we need you to attend an informal audition and sing a song of your choice from a musical.

REHEARSALS

We meet at 7.30pm until 10.00pm on Tuesday evenings at Lawn Manor Academy, Falmouth Grove entrance SN3 1EL.

There are additional rehearsals for which principals and sometimes can take place on some Sundays.

There will also be some Monday evening rehearsals as we approach the show.

We also always welcome those who could offer help front of house during performance weeks.

Tea, coffee and squash are sold during the break – usually 10 minutes around 8.45pm (ish!).

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

Your commitment to the production is vital. We’ll send you more info on this once you get in touch.

But, most of all, we hope that you’ll enjoy your time at SALOS.

Prefer to help offstage?

We are always looking for people to help backstage, with our performances.

There are lots of different jobs, from stage crew, wardrobe, making the tea and follow spotting, no experience is necessary!

Whatever your background or expertise we would like to hear from you.

We also always welcome those who could offer help during performance weeks to help front of house. We’d love to hear from you if you are interested.
