Oklahoma!

📅 16-25 October 1958 📍 The Playhouse Theatre (Mechanics' Institute) 🎬 James Ellison

Oklahoma! is set in the Oklahoma Territory in the early 1900s and centres on the romance between charming cowboy Curly McLain and independent farm girl Laurey Williams. As their relationship develops, Laurey is also pursued by the troubled farmhand Jud Fry, creating tension within the local community. Alongside them, the lively Ado Annie struggles to choose between cowboy Will Parker and travelling salesman Ali Hakim. Filled with humour, romance, and memorable songs, the musical celebrates community spirit and hope for the future as Oklahoma prepares to become an official state.
